What is BeFree Flea Shampoo?

An itch- one of the most irritating sensations for a dog! An itch can be caused by a wide number of factors that cause nerve endings in the skin surface to become irritated. Latest experiments have shown that the animal body is covered by "itch spots" (small spots of the skin that convey a sensation of itch when lightly touched). An itch can only be evoked from superficial layers of skin and mild scratching is one of the best ways to relieve the itch – as it excites the neurons with un-insulated axons. Scientists believe that the massive signal that mild scratching sends to certain populations of pain neurons temporarily overwhelms or masks the itch sensation. Fleas, mites and skin conditions like Eczema, Dandruff, Dermatitis and Scabies can all lead to intense itching – that drives your pet wild with frustration. Some animals will itch so severely, that they create open wounds that bleed and fester. There is a lot that can be done naturally to help relieve itchiness for your dog. Try not to use harsh detergents on your dogs bedding and don’t feed them human treats. Always dry your dog off properly after a swim or bath and never use human shampoos or cosmetics on your animals. PetAlive BeFree Flea Shampoo contains the following 100% natural essential oils especially selected to support skin health: Rosemary oil (Rosmarinus officinalis L.), Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca alternifolia), Niaoli oil, Citronella, Shampoo base ingredients: Aqua, coconut oil, castor oil, olive oil, potassium hydroxide, ethanol, glycerine, grapefruit extract, and lactic acid. 

 

Directions:

Wet fur thoroughly. Apply shampoo and lather thoroughly until entire coat is covered (don't forget the belly!), adding water if necessary to increase lather. Avoid the eyes. Rinse off well with warm water and towel dry. May be used with PetAlive Parasite Dr., PetAlive FleaDerm and PetAlive Skin & Coat Tonic.
